Australian Urban Transit Security Conference
14 & 15 November 2005 Hilton on the
Park Melbourne
A conference which focused on the practical
aspects of public transport security.
Participants who attended the conference learnt in detail about the practical aspects
of dealing with a terrorist threat or incident and provided with practical information that would assist
them in their roles as owners, operators, managers,
supervisors, safety and security specialists, and other
staff whose duties have a security component.
The conference program
focused on the operative level of governments
and their agencies and on transport operators and their
roles and responsibilities.
Conference structure
Following sessions on security developments,
emerging threats and emergency response arrangements,
the conference proceeded with sessions structured around
the phases of the AS4360 Risk Management Standard. Each
phase or group of phases was addressed in a session
and illustrated by one or more mini-case studies. This
format provided participants with information in a form
that most assisted their day to day activities. The
risk management process is illustrated below.
